Fortress Bank is currently seeking full and part-time Teller positions in the following markets: Davenport, Peoria, Hamilton, Macomb

Fortress Bank is seeking enthusiastic entry-level Bank Tellers to join our team. If you have a knack for face-to-face customer service and enjoy working with cash and numbers, this is an opportunity for you. In this role, you will be the face of our bank, building relationships with our valued customers and ensuring they have a positive banking experience each time they visit.

Pay range will start at $16/hour.

What you’ll do:

  • Greet customers with a warm and welcoming demeanor, creating a positive and comfortable atmosphere.
  • Actively listen to customer needs and provide appropriate solutions or referrals.
  • Provide friendly, efficient, and accurate transaction processing, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, check cashing, loan payments, etc.
  • Proactively address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns with empathy and understanding.
  • Educate customers on available bank products and services, highlighting their benefits and value.
  • Maintain a balanced cash drawer and adhere to all bank policies and procedures.

What you’ll bring:

Fortress Bank is currently seeking a full-time Treasury Management Specialist position. As we continue to expand into the Des Moines market, we are looking for a dynamic and outgoing Treasury Management Specialist to join our team and contribute to our growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver above-and-beyond service from the perspective of a business owner or key decision maker.
  • Expand upon while actively managing relationships within an existing client portfolio related to Treasury Management Services.
  • Actively seek out new opportunities and be involved in the marketplace.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing tailored solutions to meet their financial needs.
  • Collaborate with the existing Treasury Management Specialists and local commercial team to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of banking experience or related fields with transferable skills.
  • Strong understanding of treasury management services and financial solutions preferred; the right candidate will receive training on our products, services, and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Outgoing and proactive in seeking new business opportunities

Location: Des Moines, Iowa

At Fortress Bank, we are currently seeking a full-time Controller. The Controller position will report to the Chief Financial Officer. This is a critical role within our company, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, compliance, and financial procedures.
  • Oversee accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Oversee month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts and overhead cost allocation.
  • Review month-end close processes and procedures to improve efficiencies.
  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
  • Work alongside the Chief Financial Officer to support of the Bank’s reporting systems, including routine and special reporting; manage system relationships analysis; support Loan Administration’s need for data to determine appropriate loan loss reserves; and support Bank and divisional needs for system data.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and regulatory agency staff.  

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
  • Background in the financial services industry or public accounting with experience in banking and/or financial services companies.
  • 3 + years total experience in accounting or financial management.
  • Outstanding knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance – related issues.
